– Bilaspur-Teacher openly drinking alcohol in school dismissed

Bilaspur school teacher Santosh Kumar Kenwat, who created a ruckus in the school by consuming alcohol, has been dismissed from government service. Staff nurse Anita Maravi, who was missing from the hospital without permission for a long time, has been suspended. After the approval of Collector Avneesh Sharan, orders for termination and suspension of both the employees respectively have been issued. The order for termination of service of the school teacher was issued from the District Education Officer's office and the suspension order of the staff nurse was issued today from the Joint Director Health Bilaspur.
It is noteworthy that Santosh Kumar Kenwat was a primary school teacher in village Machaha of Masturi block. On February 28, he created a ruckus in the school by consuming alcohol. The incident had garnered a lot of headlines in the media. On the instructions of the Collector, Mr. Kenwat was suspended with immediate effect and a departmental inquiry was instituted against him. The reply of the suspended teacher in this regard was not found satisfactory.
The District Education Officer has dismissed assistant teacher Santosh Kumar Kenwat from government service. He has taken this strict action in continuation of the long penalty under the provisions of Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules 1966. Similarly, staff nurse Anita Maravi, posted at the PHC hospital located in village Loharsi of Masturi block, has been suspended. Ms Marawi was found missing from the hospital without permission from 5 February to 4 March. BMO Masturi had sent a report to this effect to the Joint Director and recommended action. Ms. Maravi will remain attached to the CMHO office during the suspension period. As per rules, they will continue to get subsistence allowance
